Rod and his wife, Shari, have been Ward 3 homeowners for 24 years, and are the proud parents of two daughters — Caitlin and Carly — both of whom attended Adams Elementary and East Middle School. Caitlin graduated from Ypsilanti High School (where Rod and Shari were actively involved in fundraising for the band), and later, the U-M School of Engineering. Carly graduated from Washtenaw Technical Middle College and will complete a degree in graphic arts at Columbia College (Chicago) in December. Rod has long been active in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Pastoral Council, serving as Chair [1997—98]; and as a Member [1996—99]. He is employed as the head of staff for Plum Market’s Beer and Wine department.
